Volatile City. Temporary architectures of the Caracas’ Avant-garde. Homenaje a la necrofilia
Encouraging historical research from a contemporary perspective, in Ciudad volátil. Arquitecturas transitivas de la vanguardia caraqueña (Volatile City. Temporary architectures of the Caracas’ Avant-garde) the curator and researcher Lorena González invites 4 chroniclers, 4 photographers and 4 artists to work together to heighten the collective memory of Caracas. Together, using different scopes and their artistic language, they recreate the memory of 4 important spots of the Caracas’ avant-garde: Librería Cruz del Sur (Cruz del Sur bookshop), La casa de Los Rosales (the house in the Rosales), the garage where the Homenaje a la Necrofilia (Tribute to necrophilia) was held, and Calicanto. 4 videos were included in the exhibition held in La Caja, Centro Cultural Chacao as part of the 444 anniversary of the city of Caracas.
This video describes the process by which the chronicler researched and reconstructed the memory of the space in which the exhibition Homenaje a la Necrophilia of the artist group Techo de la Ballena took Place.
